Off to Dallas Again....

In my senior year of high school, when I finally had my license, I drove to school with either Rage Against the Machine belting from my weeny factory stereo, or Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. When I want to celebrate something and need some music, I put on the Ninth Symphony. If I want to just marvel at this awesome thing known as LIFE, I often listen to his Ninth Symphony. It's simply sublime music from beginning to end, and if you don't like that symphony, then I question if you have a heart.

Naturally with my great love for this work, I'll be driving 4 hours this weekend to hear it! The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will be finishing out their season with the Beethoven, and also Shostakovich's First Piano Concerto, with soloist Conrad Tao.

Here's a little clip of the Beethoven here, and the program notes for the concert can be found here.

Hope to see you there!
