April reviews

Once again, I am late posting recent reviews of mine in NUVO. Shame on me.

These reviews were all of faculty artist concerts at the University of Indianapolis, and lemme tell ya---I love that series. I really do. They are varied in their repertoire, there are a variety of chamber ensembles, some with very interesting combinations--and I could keep going, I really could. What I really love about those shows is that each one isn't just a piano recital, or a cello recital, or an all wind quintet recital. I love that it's varied---everything from a bayan solo to a string quartet plus percussion, and stuff in between!

I unfortunately had to miss their last show of the year, which was too bad---it really looked like an incredible program. I am looking forward to next year though, where I hope they continue with their progressive repertoire, and innovative programming.

Hmmm.... I believe that Mitzi Westra is a mezzo-soprano... let's see... where's my program (rustle, rustle, rustle...), Ah, here it is.

Gee, the PROGRAM says she's a mezzo....

Well.

I hope Mitzi doesn't read the review, because everyone else who's called her a soprano is dead. Gone. Buried.

(have you considered Witness Protection?)

A Nameless Composer Married to a Mezzo-Soprano

Oh no. I looked over my original draft that I sent, hoping it was NUVO's mistake, and it wasn't. It was mine. Oh, I'm so sorry. Could you please give me your lovely wife's email address, or give me your mailing address, SOMETHING, so I can apologize to her? That was a foolish, ignorant mistake that I never should have made, especially since the singing was so wonderful! Oh woe is me! I'm so sorry Mitzi!!!!!! Please, spare my life!

The photos---oh my, they are good intentions from me, unrealized. Please know that each day this week I said to myself "You are late on posting those photos!" but each night after rehearsals of verdi, the organ symphony, and pictures at an ex, I could not find the energy to write that blog. But now I will find it! I will, I really will, by the end of the weekend!

Please let your associates/relatives know that payment will be made on time, and that I really really really do not want to be buried near Jimmy Hoffa. Or worse, Alma Mahler! I can't be buried next to that skank!!
